Station 47 Footscray’s ladder platform is off the road — replaced by the last patched-up truck in the state.
How patched up is it?
* Duct tape and cable ties
* Missing ladder sections
* Hydraulic oil leaks
It’s been reduced to a water tower. That means it cannot rescue anyone at heights.
Meanwhile, mechanics are being forced to work around the clock, doing patch jobs, just to keep any fire truck on the road because the fire truck crisis is so bad.
This is the reality across Victoria.
Yet Victorians are paying twice as much Emergency Services Tax this year.
The Allan Government must admit there is a fire truck crisis, properly fund the fire services, and put Victorians safety first.
