Crossbench Moves for Bushfire Inquiry as Ringwood Loses Half Its Fleet

Towed away from Ringwood Fire Station just a few hours ago.

Ringwood only has two appliances — and now one is gone. That’s 50% of the station’s frontline response capacity off the road.

When the call comes, firefighters don’t get to wait for repairs or make do with second-best. Lives, homes and whole communities depend on reliable trucks and proper equipment every single time the pager goes off.

Our firefighters deserve the safest, most dependable appliances and gear we can provide — nothing less.

Nick McGowan reports in the video below and will be part of the crossbench action today. With the support of the UFU, CFA and farmers, they will move for a full inquiry into bushfire preparedness and equipment. Because protecting those who protect us should never be up for debate.
